This group of identical triplets were merely separated by a few decades. And genetics. And parents. So… not so much identical. Wait. What band is this again?

Right…

Sunny & The Whiskey Machine is the perfect blend of country, blues, bluegrass,┬árock n roll, and a whole lot of soul. All blended until you get what they like to call “SoulGrass”. Consisting of a core trio (for now), with each member playing multiple instruments, there is a distinct sound from the band, yet you still never know what’s coming next. From soaring harmonies of almost A cappella songs, to blunt, in your face diatribes to the world. It’s never boring.

Sunny Gable, as the song writer, provides not only powerful vocals, but words and stories that actually make you think, all while keeping your toes tapping with the mandolin, guitar, and fiddle. Read more about her here…

Guy Ewing joins in with harmonies, and electric or acoustic bass. Read more about him here…

Bruce Allsopp fills out the sound with the harmonies and fantastic guitar work.

They love to have the guest musician here and there, sometimes joined by a banjo, another fiddle or guitar, and the occasional coronet.

Sunny & The Whiskey Machine is the result of a mostly inbred music scene in Durango Colorado. Playing music together over the past few years in multiple projects, and finally discovering that simplicity (sometimes) and soul (always!) is the key to whatever ails you. A shot or two doesn’t hurt either!

Next time they play in your neighborhood, which right now consists of 25 – 40 shows a year in southern Colorado, the western slope of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona, stop by and check them out.

Bryant Ligget has a much better written article article about the band here…
